New students

I am presently accepting new students who are playing to at least a grade 5 standard up to post conservatoire level and wish to improve their abilities in piano performance and general musicianship.

I primarily teach from my home studio in Dalston but can travel within a maximum of 2 mile radius upon request, given the student has appropriate facilities and instrument.

My teaching philosophy

I believe that studying piano is an exceptionally giving practice to anyone with a love for music that has the ability to enrich our lives in many ways. Improving our musicianship and our mastery gives us immense joy and sharing music has the power to make one feel more connected to oneself and to others. Musical practice gives people a skillset that is highly transferrable to many other parts of our lives like confidence, focus, direction, and nurturing a love for what we do.

I tailor lessons to match the individual’s needs and work towards fulfilling the student’s goals with a focus on:

  • Increasing musical and harmonic understanding
  • Improving technical abilities
  • Sight-reading
  • Interpreting sheet music
  • Performance practice
  • Practice techniques
